When do you ever get over how quickly your kids grow up? Milestones are a big part of life, and this milestone is probably the biggest of her life yet. I thought walking and talking were a big one, but when the child has an understanding of what is happening, it seems to be an even BIGGER milestone because you see and understand that they aren't the little baby you gave birth to anymore. They are now INDEPENDENT and excited about it!

Alexa is, at the moment, at her first day of preschool. She has been talking about this day for the past 3 months, from the first day we went and checked out the preschool. Talking about how she is going to "highschool" (I was really nervous about her saying that! lol NOT YET!) and telling everyone that when she goes, she will never see them again.

Last night she was giving everyone hugs and kisses, saying her "final" good byes and letting myself and great grandma Joan know that we couldn't stay at school with her. Ok, this kid really is independant, and shouldn't be this excited to go to school, should she?

This morning she wanted her backpack on immediately and was rearing to get going. All the way to the preschool she couldn't stop asking when we would be there. She walked right on in the front door, put her apple with her name on it in the attendance chart and said, "ok mom, now you have to go home. I will see you later. If you need me call me, for anything" Ahhhhh.....children!

Well it has been almost a year, maybe more since I have updated my blog, and those of you who used to watch it religiously (you know who you are!) have probably moved onto bigger and better blogs! But hopefully this post will inspire you to keep checking back for random updates!

Ok, so I guess I should fill you in on our life over the past year. Alexa is 2 and ¾ and is going to turn three "when the snow is on the ground, and someone comes to my birthday" according to her. She is probably the smartest and most hilarious kid in the world, and I am not just being a bias mother either. You can ask anyone who comes into her life, she amazes people with her quick wit and hilarious innuendos. She loves most things that 2 year olds like, like Dora and going to the park and colouring and reciting her ABC's at the top of her lungs, but if she were put into a situation where there were kids to play with or adults to sit and talk to about life, she would choose to include herself in the conversation with the "BIG" girls instead of going and playing with the kids. She is quite the character!

I am currently limited to things that I can do around the house, as I broke my leg, but Alexa is always there to lend a helping hand, wanting to know if I need a massage or if she can hold a door open for me, or help bathe me. Sometimes I forget that she IS only 2 and can't do some things, or doesn't quite comprehend things that I say to her at all times, although she does try her best!

We now live on our own, thank GOD no more roommates! We moved into our beautiful one bedroom apartment in March, and are loving the freedom of not having anyone but us two around, when Alexa is around. Her second home, and sometimes I wonder if it is her first home, is my Grandma Joan's house. Alexa loves it there, and would much sooner go there then come home any day, mostly because right now mom isn't much fun at all with a broken leg.

Well I am sure I will post more in the near future, but for now I am tired and we are planning a trip to the big city tomorrow, so check back soon for more of our exciting adventures and thrilling, enticing stories!

Well I am really tired, but just thought I would blog since it has been a while! Alexa is growing up fast, and as beautiful as ever! She is honestly like a teen in a baby's body! She has an attitude the size of the Grande Canyon, and is not afraid to tell you how it is! She is talking so much and even creates crazy sentences, mostly to lip off, but still puts words together that make sense! I can tell I am going to have my hands full with this child as she grows up!

I am totally loving motherhood though, even though I work to much to spend good quality time together, the time we do have together is full of her making me laugh, even if she is upset at something, I laugh because of her crazy faces and honest to goodness look on life! I can never be mad at her cause she makes me laugh so much, the poor kid will be so confused with what discipline looks like! She sure is a HAM though! She loves to dance and sing and just full out annoy you in anyway she can!

Gotta love the gift of life though, I still cannot believe this precious life God placed in my life to love and cherish! And that is exactly what I shall do, love every moment and not hold any regrets! "Love is patient Love is Kind"

Well, I finally bought a new camera! YAY for tax returns! And now it is time for an update on Alexa and myself!

We are still living in Fort St. John, I got a second job as a radio announcer at a local radio station mooseFM (www.moosefm.ca)! It is awesome, although I am not liking that I am away from Alexa 7 days a week, but we are surviving! Hooray for amazing friends who don't mind watching my beautiful girl most of the time! And Grandma Joan, who practically is raising Alexa, and doing an amazing job at it, I may say so myself!

Alexa is growing so fast! She is talking in sentences and cruising around like its nobodies business! She loves shoes and driving, and already I am worried! A teen at 16 months already??? Yes, it is her 16 month birthday today! Its the nineteenth, I just realized it!

Ummmm...not too much else is new, so feel free to give me a shout if you would like to find out more on our crazy life!

I swear I don't know where she gets her attitude from! Couldn't be me!!:P

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

Ok, so I was tagged by Ian and Kristen, so I figured I should blog. Although no one will probably read it cause I have not blogged in soooooo long!

1) I LOVE my job. I know most people hate theirs, but I LOVE mine. It is crazy isn't it? I dunno, maybe it is the people I work with that make it so great, but whatever it is, I love doing it!

2) I am totally broke....100% of the time, even when I have money, it really isn't mine. It belongs to the people I owe money to, like the great government of ours, who so kindly lent me $10000 to go to school, but unfortunately I owe it back! YAY!

3) I have NO allergies. Absolutely none! I can't even begin to sympathize with Kristen, who sounds like she has one heck of a time living! :) Although I am extremely sorry that you are allergic to horses. I know if I was, I would probably die! haha

4) I have the softest sheets known to man! My wonderful mother bought them for me for christmas, and now I don't ever want to get out of bed! Honestly it feels like being asleep in a cloud (if I knew what that was like for real, but I can imagine!) Whoever wants to, please feel free to come over and give them a try! They are amazing! Micro Mink is what they are called just in case my description made you want to go and get some! :P

5) I absolutely loved giving birth to my daughter! It was the most amazing thing I have ever accomplished. Most women say it was sooo painful, but honestly I can't remember the pain, just the joy of doing what God truly made my body to do! It was incredible, I want to do it again! (I am not crazy, just in case you are wondering! )

This was something very hard to write, as I am very open so most people would know everything about me! I hope this has made you more aware of who I am exactly!

Alexa started to crawl on Tuesday! I, of course, was at work and I missed my daughters first crawl. She waited until mommy is gone and then crawled...I hate working, I wish I could be there for all her firsts. But I guess being a single mom you have to miss your child's firsts. *tear* Oh well....hopefully she takes her first step on a weekend :P

Time for an UPDATE!!

Well it has been an amazingly busy summer, but it's been filled with new opportunities and new beautiful moments in both mine and Alexa's life! Alexa has now got TWO teeth! She is beginning to crawl, has been trying to get it down for the past month, but still only goes backwards! Hopefully she picks it up soon! I have started my new job at a place called ITNorth.ca in Fort St. John, Alexa and I are living with Great Grandpa and Grandma here, and she loves it. I think it is really good for her to see as much as them as possible as she probably won't see them for the rest of her life! So I am happy she is gaining a strong relationship with them both.

Alexa is still bald as a bowling ball, but her hair is slowly growing in. She has her ears pierced, something Jolene and I got done about a month ago (she looks soooo cute! ), and she is just as happy as she has ever been! Must be doing something right with her I guess for her to be such a happy beautiful bundle of joy, to everyone she meets! Everyone that sees her is always saying how beautiful she is. (Must get that from me!) hehe

My best friend Jolene got married over the summer, to the most wonderful guy! We all love him, and I am so glad they finally tied the knot! Congrats Jo, I love you both so much, you are the best Aunty to Alexa!

Tegan just turned one yesterday, but we had her birthday party about a week ago. Here are some pictures of the girls all digging into the wonderfully crafted cake Jade made!

Well as you can see God has been good to us this summer. I can only pray that things get better from here on in. I love my daughter and thank God daily for blessing me with such a beautiful and happy girl! I hope you all enjoy the pictures just as much as I enjoy taking them of my beauty!

Alexa's Milestones

Yesterday was an ordinary day, drove back to Tumbler after being in Fort St John visiting my man and his son, which turned out to be an extraordinary day! Alexa has reached yet another HUGE milestone in her ever changing beautiful life! She has gotten her first tooth! I was so excited when Dakota looked up and exclaimed "SHE JUST BIT ME!!" My first reaction of course, was "Well she is teething and she bites my chin and fingers all the time" , but Dakota then exclaimed "DID SHE HAVE A TOOTH WHEN SHE BIT YOU???" I was totally freakin out! So excited, so proud and almost in tears! My baby got her first tooth! It is just poking through, but it is none the less there. Yes it is. Alexa is so proud of it too, opens her mouth for me to feel it and observe it, and she is always poking at it too, wondering what this hard thing in her mouth is!? Oh the joys of being a mother! Watching and anticipating the next milestones in your childs life is the most exciting feeling I have ever felt!

I will post pictures of this awesomeness! I just have to get my camera hooked up to a computer! Til then! Stay fit and have fun! Body BREAK!

I know, we live in the city (or so called city), but I bought this beautiful cowgirl hat, and everyone had to get in on the action! So we all had a chance at being cowgirls and boys! All we are missing is the horse, the wide open fields to gallop in and maybe a cow or two! Hopefully one day we will have the rest of what we need to be cowboys!

Now that is what I call a TRUE cowboy, cooking grits on the grill! Ok maybe he is only cooking pasta and its on a stove not a grill, but he looks mighty fine doing it in a cowboy hat, all he needs is to wear some cowboy boots and ummm....thats it.... ;) Dale knows how it is! hahaha

Today Zach stayed at home with Alexa and I, he loved it! He loves his little sister. We had loads of fun, colouring, playing, going for a walk, but as the day wound down and the time drew near to pick dad up, both kids got quite cuddley and we took this pic, I just love the way we are all looking up into the camera, like nothing can hold us back. The sky is the limit for both of us and our kids, I love both of the children to death, and thank God daily for blessing me with such wonderful kidlets!.

Alexa and I were playing and she was giving me some sass, gotta love her though, she is the perfect child! Beautiful, happy (happy most of the time!), and smart as all get out! I am a proud mother!

I bought a mat for the bath tub so Alexa would have a bit of grip in the tub, and she loved it! She got to sit for the first time in the tub last night while daddy gave her a bath, and she was so proud of herself, got to play with toys and show off her great balance!

Well I am sorry that it has been so long since my last post. But I have been in Fort St John with my boy friend and his son for the past while, and I forgot my camera at home with grandpa Jason. Ooops! I will get some pictures up though soon!

I will just update you for now on how Alexa is doing! First exciting things first, SHE ROLLED OVER!!!! Yay, a milestone down in her life! It is so exciting. JayD had been helping her for a while to try and get her to roll over, then I had given her a bath and she was naked on the floor, and next thing I know she is on her tummy laughing! It was awesome! GO LEXI GO!! She has also discovered her voice, and lips and tongue. Constantly making O shapes with her lips, and giving mommy raspberries, and talking up a storm! She is crazy! She is turning into a mommy's girl, which is bad, waking up sometimes 5 times a night, and crying like somebody is murdering her when I put her down. I hope this is just a stage, and she will sleep through the night soon. Crossing every limb on my body! haha She also loves to stand, always pulling herself up when you hold her hands. Oh and did I mention how massive she is? She is in sizes 6-9 months already, most of her sleepers are too small, but I think she will start sleeping in onesies anyway due to the warm weather. Anyway, I think that is enough for now, I will put pictures up very soon! Til then!

Life is kinda funny. You know how your mom always tells you "when you stop looking for love, love will find you"? Well I totally agree with her. I had decided that love was only a figment of the imagination, and that no one could ever find TRUE love, and all the sudden this wonderful guy and his beautiful son walk into my life. They are so amazing and so perfect for Alexa and I. I know God has blessed me fully and finally brought my future husband into my life. I love JayD with my entire being, my love is so strong sometimes I feel like my heart will burst from it! I can't wait to be with him and his son for the rest of our lives! The best part is Alexa just loves him! It is amazing to see a man with as much love as JayD has for his son, me and my daughter!

Grandma Jerrilyn and family got back from California last night, and this morning Alexa was showered with beautiful presents! Easter - Thankyou Jesus

Jesus rose from the dead! What a happy holiday! I just love easter, almost as much as christmas! The songs everyone sings and the happiness of everyone around. Mostly because of all the chocolate they get and the extra day off school. The world has taken every holiday that is focused fully on Jesus and turned it into a holiday of glutney!

But we know the real reason for these holiday's, and it makes me so happy that we have a God that loves us so much to have come into the world became poor and then died for us, after he was treated so horribly! I just can't fathom a love that deep! Thankyou Jesus!

Alexa and I are sick of this cold weather and yucky snow, so we went dowtown and bought a few things to brighten our house up. If spring isn't happening out there, we WILL bring it in here! Tell us what you think of our newest additions in the house!

Got some new fun funky placemats, they are so cool! And the daffodils we got for cancer week, pretty aren't they?

Teeth???

Alexa is too young to be getting teeth, is she not? But never the less, I believe her first tooth is fighting to push through. Notice her red cheeks and she is drooling excessively? Her bottom gum on the right side is very white in one spot as well. I believe those are signs of teeth. I don't think I am ready for her to have teeth though! Hopefully she doesn't turn out to be a biter! I am sure nursing mothers can all agree with that!! :P

She has also been trying so hard to roll over the past two days. I have been encouraging her by pushing her to her side and then letting her just fall the rest of the way, and she loves it. Now she rolls her head way back and kicks her leg over trying to do it as well. Usually she kicks the opposite leg to which way her head it tilted though, so she has a bit of coordination skills to work out yet! :P Silly girl!

Tepoema Party

Last night I hosted a Tepoema party. Tepoema is a subline of Noni, which is the juice that Jade distributes. Tepoema is the face care line, and they also have a body care line which is called Moea. Both lines are amazing, they smell great, and they actually work.

The party was so much fun, more people than I thought would show came! Although it was a bit disappointing for Jade I think, as only 2 people at the party purchased anything, and then my mom and I bought stuff. But Jade did an awesome job providing people with information and showing the product off, even though if you just use it it speaks for itself! A few ladies were a bit skeptical and I think that makes the whole atmosphere of the party a bit tense, and made Jade a bit uncomfortable. But all in all it was an awesome night!

Alexa is just growing so fast! She loves her toys and is now trying to control her movements when she hits them. I swear she understands what I say when I tell her she has to hit the toys to make them sing! She does it every time! I can't believe anyone would want to miss out on this stage of a childs life! Seeing her grow and flourish is the most precious thing in the world! I am sorry you all have to miss out on this exciting time! But for those of you with babies, or who have had babies you can all relate! Yay for babies!

Alexa has decided she is officially ready for easter! The ears are Addison's, she left them here last time she was up, and Alexa just loves them! She is growing so fast! Poor Alexa got her two month shots yesterday. It was the most horrible thing to go through, seeing my child in so much pain and not being able to take it away. Mommy's are supposed to soothe everything, and this new cry was so horrible I cried! I felt like a terrible mom letting her be put through so much pain, but I would rather see her go through pain for a day or two than get sick and have to be in pain for a long while! She's too precious, Mom's should have the superpower to take pain away, but noooooo, we were given the superpower to multitask, who needs to multitask when your child is in pain!? Mom's around the world, rise up and pray for the power of pain killing!

Fun Weekend

On Thursday, Jade brought her girls into town to stay the weekend with the family. We had so much fun, although Tegan was a bit grumpy most of the time, I would love to do it again, sometime in the future! I am so glad Dakota was there to help me with the girls, she slept here as well so that I didn't have to wake up with both girls in the middle of the night! She was great! I think everyone is worn out, and I am sure Tegan will be so happy to see mommy tomorrow! I love my nieces, Jade feel free to drop em by anytime! haha
This weekend was sure funfilled and tiring! Kudo's to Jade though, for doing it everyday! She doesn't have a 2 month old to throw in though, so maybe it isn't as hard as I think it is! haha

Ok, I am no expert, but I think 2 months is a little early for a jolly jumper! But Lexi took right to it, she absolutely loves it! She is just too strong for her own good, already able to bounce on her own and hold herself up to sit in it! She is my little monster baby! Shes so cute!

Alexa's nightmare

Well this is Alexa writing, and I just want to share with you a nightmare I had last night:

Mom was holding me and Aunty Dakota was holding Tegan and the next thing I knew Tegan grabbed me and came towards me mouth WIDE open and eyes closed tight, she was coming to eat me. Mom and Dakota did nothing but laugh, and grandma started snapping pictures. I could do nothing but scream, hoping I would wake up, but I never did, it was then I realised my nightmare was no nightmare at all!

Today Alexa was dedicated. I almost cried when everyone stood up and promised to stand by me as I pledged before God and the church to raise her in God's ways and to protect her from all evil. Thanks everyone for being there for me as Alexa and I start our journey together in a new life. Putting my old life behind me and pressing forward to a new and exciting journey with my beautiful angel. I cannot believe I have this precious life to raise. God placed her in my trusting care, and I just hope I never let him down. She truely is an amazing gift and I do not really think I deserve it, but seeing as I already have her, I am going to do my best now to protect her. I know God will be there 100% of the way to pick up where I lack in the form of an amazing family and wonderful friends!

This little outfit was given to me from Jessica, my good friend and her mom for Alexa's birth, and she finally fits into it! "Thank Heavens for Little Girls" ! I truely do thank heaven for this little girl! She kinda looks a bit amish in the hat though! haha

First Valentines!

So valentines was yesterday, and usually I hate the day, but I decided to get some presents for my mom and two little sisters, and it kinda made me feel good for the rest of the day! Then Dakota came over with 3 pink roses for me and a red rose for Lexi! Her very first valentine! She loves the rose, although she did try to eat it!

So I decided to do a little photo shoot with her and her new rose! She seemed to have a lot of fun, as did I! I love spending time with my little angel! Hope you all enjoy the pics as much as I do!

Birthday!

Well today was the big day! I turned 22, a day that I thought I would never see! But it came and now it is gone, and somehow I don't feel like I think I should feel as a new mother and 22 year old woman. I am not as grown up as I thought I would be when I reached this pinnacle time in my life.

When I was a kid, I imagined I would be married and living on a ranch with horses and dogs and cats, and a big barn, and I think I was a little too dramatic in thinking that would ever happen to me!

I guess life never turns out the way we want it too. Maybe as humans we think too much, and we should just leave the worrying of life up to God. I think I need to relax in his arms a bit, and start to rely on him more. I need to realise that I can't push him to bring someone into my life. I need to wait and on God's time someone will come. Which I think is the hardest thing to do as a young single mother. Wait for a prince charming to come, when maybe I missed the boat because I was too busy walking my own path and stumbling downhill, and God was showing him to me, but I just couldn't see cause I was going downhill too fast!

But then I stop and notice the beautiful things God has done in my life. He has rescued me from a life of sin and given me the most precious gift (the life of my beautiful daughter) and has set me on a rock to save me from the thrashing waves I was drowning in. Sometimes I feel the waves are climbing up the rock to claim me again, but I just sit back and know that my life is now safe in the hands of my almighty saviour. My daughters too, and together we will stand strong in any storm with God by our side! Maybe life isn't too bad after all! And hopefully with my aging process I become wiser and more spiritually and physically mature!

Ok, now to show off a few of the beautiful items I got for my birthday!

These are the beautiful UGG clogs that my mom and Dante and Dakota and Jase got me! They also got me $50 gift certificates to the CO-OP! I love these clogs, they are so warm and fuzzy!

These are the flowers that Erin got me, gorgeous pink lilies. I think these are the kind of lilies I am going to have at my wedding. If I ever get married! lol They are just too beautiful, God truely is the greatest artist!

This is the gift that Jessica got me. She is one of the best friends I have in Tumbler! She is just so thoughtful, but we rarely see each other, and it is sad, because I would love to see her and hang out way more often!

Well that was not all I got for my birthday, Trent and Colette got me a gift certificate for itunes, and a beautiful pic of Alexa and I the day after she was born, and Bern and Dale got me some beautiful homemade jewlery, which i will put pics of on later!

If you are wondering why Alexa is half naked and Tegan is kinda 1/4 naked, it's because Jade and I were changing their diapers, and decided to snap some pics while they were being so well behaved! On Thursday Dakota and Dante came over and had supper, and hung out for a while. Alexa loves when other people come over. I think she likes when there is more faces than just mine there sometimes! She was so happy, and enjoyed the evening like we all did! Here are a few of the pictures commemorating the event! Tegan Lily Steckly, a beautiful gift from God, sent from above to bless and touch all our lives and show us just how precious life is. Tegan has a way of lighting up a room with her smile and laugh, and we are all so fortunate to still have her around. Yesterday, by the grace of God, Jade found her just in time. Tegan had thrown up in her sleep, inhaled it and couldn't breathe. Jade found her did everything right, and today we are all lucky to still have this beautiful ray of sunshine with us. I love you Miss Tegan Lily, and I praise God that you are still here little girl. God truely has angels watching over you and your family! Well everyone, I would like to introduce you to the newest member of my life! This beautiful little girl is my daughter Alexa Rae. She is the most wonderful Christmas gift from God. I was induced on Monday, December 18, 2006 at 1:00 in the afternoon and she was born on December 19, 2006 at 3:23 in the morning. I think she is the most perfect baby on the planet, I love her to bits and pieces already. She and I are both learning as we go, and it is going extremely well, although I am extremely sore and just a bit tired. She is spoiled already, and everyone is buying her baby's first Christmas ornaments. I have 3 already, haha, and I thought I wouldn't be able to buy one before Christmas! Thank you to everyone who has given me gifts, and to those who are just there supporting me! I love you all! And Alexa loves you all too!

The first snowfall of the season! And to think, yesterday it was blue sky and no sign of snow at 10 am, but by 10 pm, this is pretty much what it looked like! Waking up this morning was a big surprise! Winter is HERE!

Dante lost somewhere in that big pile of snow!

This is what everyone had to wake up to and scrape off before heading out for the day! Almost 3 feet of snow on their vehicles.

Mom plowing through some snow, trying to make a parking space because of the lack of a shovel!

Lets hope this snow is only temporary! It would suck to have more snow piled up on top of it throughout the entire winter! We are expecting 2 more feet tonight! Lets hope we don't get snowed in. That will be 5 feet of snow within 48 hours!

Road Trip!

These are some pictures of our (Jade, Daniel, Addison, Tegan, Me, and we picked Dillon up!) trip to Edmonton, for a wedding. We left at 3:00 am and arrived in Edmonton at 5:00pm. Long trip? YES!! One flat tire later, which we aquired at 4:00 in the morning just outside of Pouce Coupe, which is about 10 mins from Dawson, and a stop to pick up Uncle Dillon, we finally arrived, all grumpy and tired! What a trip! Just to see them cut the cake! hahaha

Wow, time is going by quite fast lately! I only have 97 days to go! My ticker is a bit behind schedule, i am 26 weeks and 1 day pregnant now. Yipee! The baby is getting big, and moving alot. Wakes me up at night with kicking and rollling fits. Jade says it only gets worse. I will put more pictures up soon, as people keep telling me I am huge, maybe they just don't realize I am getting fatter! Anyway, just thought I would update you all a bit about how I am doing. I am working, as a waitress, and going to college for my Social Service Worker Diploma. It is proving to be a bit more than I can handlle at the time though, so I think that I will probably stop school for a year after this semester, just because I want to have a bit of a life! lol Otherwise, I am doing good! For all you in and around TR, the View Point Bar and Grill is staying open this year. We will be open Wednesday through Sunday, our hours will be 10-2 and 4-11 each day, except for on Friday and Saturday's we will be open until 1 am. Please, if you are around here, come and help us stay open, otherwise we will be having to shut down! Well I am going to go, but I will blog yet again soon! Goodbye!

Well, it has been a while since I last posted. But I guess it is time to post something, before I forget my login name and password!

Life has been good, and a bit stressful at times, but I am surviving. I have also decided that I am going to raise my child alone. The father is no longer a part of this. He just couldn't grow up, and I was sick of waiting and pushing him. I felt I was just pushing him further down the road I didn't want him to go. So, now I am facing this all by myself(with tonns of support though!) and am going to college to take my Social Work Diploma, so I have a career for myself and my child. I am also thinking of taking the Sherrifs course at the JI in Vancouver. But am not sure I want to spend nine weeks away from my baby while taking the course.

I am working as a waitress currently at the Golf Course. It's a good job, the tips are good, although I am having trouble staying on my feet for 8 hours a day lately. I am getting vericose veins, and the doctor said I should change my job or take it easy. Putting my feet up for 10 min every hour. Hahaa, I found that funny, how as a waitress am I supposed to do that?

This past week I went to spend two days with Daniel and Jade, helping them out. We fenced for one day, and went into Dawson the next. Only Jade, Addison and I though(went to Dawson). Jade had a doctors appt. and I went and watched Addison while she was in the clinic. I finally bought a camera as well! I am so ecstatic about it. It is a nice little camera, and it takes some pretty nice pictures. I don't need much though. Just a good enough camera to take pics of my baby and put them on the blog! Anyway, here are some pictures of Addison, seeing as she was my best and cutest model of the day!

How your baby's growing: Your baby is no longer an embryo! Though she's barely the size of a kumquat — just an inch or so long, crown to bottom — and weighs less than a quarter of an ounce, she now has completed the most critical portion of her development. This is the beginning of the so-called fetal period, a time when the tissues and organs in her body rapidly grow and mature. Her vital organs — the liver, kidney, intestines, brain, and lungs — are now in place and starting to function (although they'll continue to develop throughout your pregnancy). Her liver continues to make blood cells, and the yolk sac, which previously supplied these cells, is no longer needed and begins to disappear.

During the next three weeks, your baby's length will more than double to nearly 3 inches. Her head is proportionately smaller now than it was a few weeks ago, but it's still almost half the length of her entire body. Today I am now 8 weeks Prego......Here is a little info for ya'll bout my baby and how it is growing, from babycenter.com.

How your baby's growing: Your baby is now 5/8 of an inch long, about the size of a kidney bean. She's constantly moving and shifting, although you won't be able to feel these womb wiggles for several weeks yet. Her embryonic tail is disappearing, and her eyelids practically cover her eyes. Still slightly webbed, her fingers and toes are growing longer. Her arms have lengthened, too, and her hands are now flexed at the wrist and meet over her heart. Her knee joints have formed, and her feet may be long enough to meet in front of her body. With her trunk straightening out, her head is more erect. Breathing tubes extend from her throat to the branches of her developing lungs. The nerve cells in her brain are also branching out to connect with one another, forming primitive neural pathways. Though you may be daydreaming about your baby as one gender or another, the external genitals still haven't developed enough to reveal whether you're having a boy or a girl.

How your life's changing: You haven't gained much weight yet, but parts of you are certainly growing — like your breasts. You'll soon need bigger bras with better support than your old ones. You may notice your waistline expanding as well, forcing you to pack away your favorite jeans. Less obvious is the increase in your blood volume; by the end of your pregnancy, you'll have 40 to 50 percent more blood running through your veins to meet the demands of your baby. Your need for iron increases with your blood volume. Take your prenatal vitamins to make sure you're getting the extra iron you need so that you don't become anemic.

Feeling tired? Hormonal changes, in particular, can cause you to feel sluggish. And it's not uncommon to be having trouble getting a good night's sleep at this point, especially if you're uncomfortable at night or getting up to use the bathroom repeatedly. Frequent nausea and vomiting can certainly cost you energy, too. If you can, try to get between nine and ten hours of sleep at night, or take naps during the day.

It's been a while! Well, I went on Saturday to Edmonton to pick Mat up. That night, he told me he loved me, believe or not believe? lol Well he better love me. I am having his kid, so he is kinda stuck! lol Although he said even if I wasn't pregnant, he would still love me! Awwww!! The baby is giving me such pains, and is making me so sick during the day it isn't even funny! I think the only time I am comfortable is when I am sleeping.

Today, I got a phone call from Mat, he is on his way back out to camp, and he told me his mom was taken to the hospital today. She is not doing too well. She is quite sick, she is having problems with her heart, and we are very worried about her. I want her to live to see her grandchild. So if you could just pray for her, her name is Audrey! She has been such a big help with the whole pregnancy, and has helped Mat and I out since she found out.

As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed ever let you down probably will. You will have your heart broken, probably more than once, and it's harder every time. You'll break hearts too, so remember how it felt when yours was broken.. You'll fight with your best friend. You'll blame a new love for things an old one did. You'll cry because time is passing too fast, and you'll eventually lose someone you love. So take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've never been hurt because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back. So send this to all of your friends in the next 5 minutes and a miracle will happen tonight.. Find a guy who calls you beautiful instead of hot, who calls you back when you hang up on him, who will stay awake just to watch you sleep. Wait for the guy who kisses your forehead, who wants to show you off to his friends. Wait for the one who is constantly reminding you of how much he cares about you and how lucky he is to have you. Wait for the one who turns to his friends and says, "..that's her.."

Well, I recieved some shocking news earlier today. And I am not too sure whether to be excited or scared. Ok, well I guess I am both. Scared of my mother's wrath mostly though! But if you all haven't figured out what I am talking about yet, I am pregnant! Due at Christmas time, so it will be an exciting christmas for both me and the dad. He is pretty psyched, although it came as a shocker for the both of us. He wants to move down to Edmonton, so that he can keep working for his company and have me and the baby close, so he doesn't always have to come back up here to Tumbler. I think he is going to be a good dad, I think this is making him realize it is time to settle down and actually start taking care of someone else. He is being so amazing about it. And his mom is being really supportive as well. I told Jade and Dillon, but now it is time to face my mom. I know exactly what she is going to say, so I just want to get in there, tell her, and get out if I can. It is going to be hard, but she will get used to the idea sooner or later. Anyway, I have been sick and so tired the past 3 weeks, and now I know why, so I am going to hit the sack right now. So tired! See you all on the flip side!

I just thought I would introduce you all to my niece! She is a beautiful little girl, who is growing up wwwaaaayyy to fast! I took these pictures of her on easter, she was modelling her new easter dress for her great uncle, and I thought I would take some of her as well! She looked just like a little angel in the dress, and the way the light was coming through the curtains. She looks just like her mom! I love them both!

It's been a bit since I have written my last blog, but I do have an excuse! I am so sick. I have been to the doctors 2 times, and he still doesn't know what is wrong with me. My friends nephew had whooping cough though, and I think I may have gotten it from him. Maybe bronchitus? I don't know, but this better either kill me or go away real quick, because it is getting so old!
ooh ooh, I got a new bed, finally no more sleeping on a uncomfortable couch. I'm so happy about it! It's a queen size, so I have a tonn of room to myself! But I am used to sleeping on the couch, and I don't think I moved out of the one corner last night. :D It was nice though. I had a great sleep! I feel like a princess in such a big bed! I need to get a frame for it now. Maybe a sleigh bed?? mmmm...so many choices! Time to spoil myself!
I can't believe how nice it has been here lately! Yesterday it was up to 24 degrees! T-shirt weather! Hopefully we have a beautiful summer. Last summer really sucked, it was cold all summer. May last year was the warmest month! But this year I can feel it in my skin, its gonna get warm! Soon we'll all be going to Nunavit for Winter vacation to get away from the cold down south! Hahaha! Well I guess I should get back to work, as much as I hate work, I guess it's the only way to make money to pay bills eh!??

Wow, I feel like I have actually accomplished something today! For not doing too much! Our MCC's for the electricians finally arrived today. We have been waiting for them for forever, and it feels like a weight has finally been lifted from me having them here safe and sound. Although no one comes into my office now! haha Ah well. More time to check stuff out on the net!

Watched King Kong last night, I must say I don't think I enjoyed it as much as I thought I would. Can't wait to see the Ressurection. I love Vampire movies. I hope it is as good as Underworld, and Interview with a Vampire! Well anyway, I am going to get back to work, I only have an hour left, and I still have a few cats to skin! Til next time!

Well, this is my first posting! So maybe I will just start with an update on me! I am finishing off my application for Bible School. I am going to go to Prairie this coming fall. I really need to change my life, and get out of Tumbler Ridge. For some reason, I always tend to find trouble. I wonder why I am always involved in stupid stuff. I need a change of pace, someone to hang out with that won't let me get into trouble. Maybe I just need to change my own life style. I know I do. So pray that God keeps his hand on me, and that I will keep on keeping on. My journey will be long and hard, so pray that I can follow God through thick and thin! Have a Happy Easter everyone!
